It’s what we do.

Members of our team have been directional drilling since its infancy.

We know that it is an industry constantly evolving.  While nothing can replace the experience gained in the field; drilling all types of soil, in all types of applications, we know that education, innovation and safety are the keys to success.

Drilling

Horizontal directional drilling (HDD) is a trenchless method of installing utilities; plastic, PVC, steel or cable through the ground without disturbing the surface.  Originally utilized under roads, highways, rivers and even buildings; directional drilling is now a clean and quick way of installing utilities along rural corridors.

Directional drilling is started, first with a smaller diameter pilot hole which is “steered” through the ground;  avoiding utilities along the way to the exit point which may be hundreds of meters away.  If necessary the hole is then enlarged using a backreamer.  The pipe is then attached to the drill string and the drill rods are removed with the pipe following behind.
